I was the solopreneur of this sustainability-driven outdoor company from 2019-2023.
The branding process of Gear Washers was strictly tied to its 3 pillars: Trustworthy, Hospitable, Eco-Friendly. Teasing out these values visually involved extracting elements of each pillar.
Trustworthy - Organized, authentic, just like you, collaborative. Visually this meant the brand needed to be approachable and inherently understood/straightforward. It needed to bright, welcoming, bold, friendly.
Hospitable - easy-to-use, customer-service driven, welcoming to all, community oriented. This value came to life in aspects like simple web UX/UI, no customer question left unanswered, strong event presence in the outdoor community.
Eco-Friendly - non-toxic products, modern approach, water conservation, no waste “packaging”. The visual manifestation of this was the color choice - Yves Klein blue was chosen as the most bold representation of vivid cleanliness, water, and purity.
